A popular candidate who had contested for the local Head Manship at Masorie (1) community Waterloo, Mr Yusuf Kamara, has launched operation “Get them out” from the affected drugs known as Kush.
He was recently declared winner of the Masorie Village head by the Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of the National Returning Officer and Electoral Commisioner of Sierra Leone.
Mr Kamara is widely known for his robust discipline and stand among the Masorie residents as a ‘no-nonsense leader’ who always sees and works towards the path of discipline. After his declaration, several young people from all works of life took to the streets in the village, to applaud the change and the victory of the New Leader in the political limelight.
Masorie, under the past regime of, headman Alpha Umaru Barrie alias H.M Popay, was labeled as ‘den of thugery’ with violent spirit of indiscipline and recklessness pervading the village.
Some made up gang known as Kinston Town are led by a notorious gangstar called Governor who is believed to be terrifying the community people, standing against anyone who goes against the wishes of their master, that is, the ex-headman, who is alleged to be supporting the gangsters.
Most of the community people voted for change as the continuous harassment on them by the gangs is becoming so unbearable.
The thugery is becoming a syndicate or a ‘cartel’ as many of these young gangstars are ‘allegedly’ under the command of Popay who believe to control them by investing huge amount of Kush on them.
Popay is also known for his notorious land selling to several people that has sparked lots of conflict of interest among buyers, according to some community people.
Africa24 however, strives to get his side of the story but he could not be available for comment.
All these accusations of him have frustrated people, seeing the community as a worst part to live in Waterloo.
It is sad to see that most of these youth are highly talented with various God given skills that could have been used to improve their lives and the community in which they live.
Rising cases of youth who smoke drugs are becoming alarming and uncontrollable. They are dangerously addicted to the drug substance, kush. After taking few puffs they are left unable to stand but will in toxically ready to go by orders given to them by their pay master.
Mr Kamara said his tenure as leader is to ensure that a community of peace and safety prevails and he is ready to do anything with the conferment of his power to rebrand the image of the village from the past dark and cloud days.
I am deeply in pain over the past years to see such a beautiful community always in bad spot, he cried out.
“Under my leadership, things will change for good. I believe in the vision of President Julius Maada Bio’s agenda for change and I am ready to assist in my own little way to ensuring that the same vision of the President is achieved. Masorie will be rebranded and become a paradise for everyone to be free will liberty.
Many residents who were spoken to applauded the new idea of the village head and called on him to be steadfast in his fight of the enemies of the village.
Others expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Local Unit Commander at the Waterloo division Mr Sama for being proactive.
The ‘warrior’ as he is famously called is one of the most highly discipline and no-nonsense police officers. He is on the rampage to trap down all those dangerous criminals within the vicinity.
His sleepless nights, patrol activity made possible together with his gallant team, will help to restore order and peace in the community.
Locals are also pleading with the government to assist the community through their leadership to bring development in their locality as they lack so many basic facilities.
