United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone David Reimer is in Washington DC to attend a two day inspiring conference with colleague Ambassadors.
“Starting tomorrow, I have two days of intense discussions on Sierra Leone exclusively-not just on elections but on the whole relationship,” David Reimer twitted on the US Embassy Freetown account.
The United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken welcomed the Ambassadors and Consuls General to Washington DC for the Chiefs of Mission Conference.
“It is an important opportunity for us to come together and discuss our continued work on behalf of the people of United States,” Blinken said.
It is not immediately known the issues that will be discussed but one thing is clear that the June 24th 2023 Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council elections that will be conducted by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) is high on the agenda.
David Reimer was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Sierra Leone on June 19th 2019 by President Donald Trump.
The international community has pumped over ten million seven hundred thousand dollars to the Elections Basket Fund for the conduct of the elections in Sierra Leone next Saturday.
