Bra Parrot who has vast experience in local governance knows very well that Paramount Chiefs as traditional leaders should be like twin mothers (KOMBRAS) to accommodate everyone devoid of tribe, political party affiliation, region or religion.
But what has appalled the most peaceful concerned animal is that for the past couple of years he has noticed that majority of these respectable leaders have started to lose that respect simply because of the position they’ve taken to support or favour individuals as well as political parties which is against their tradition in its entirety.
It’s also against the tenets of modern democracy which calls for the acceptance and inclusion of everyone.
This is more the reason Paramount Chiefs have little or no respect these days. But honestly, Bra Parrot is not surprised and will be the last to ever surprise because he knows that these leaders are doing all this for GREED.
Don’t tell the wise bird you don’t know that Paramount Chiefs knowing their roles as moral guarantors in the past had nothing to do with politics and so were held in very high esteem not only by their subjects but also public officials and visitors.
Meanwhile, Parrot has also noticed that in some parts of the country, particularly in the north, women are not allowed to be elected as Paramount Chiefs unlike in the southeast.
Of course, the Patriotic bird completely distastes this idea as women too are citizens of this country and have the right to hold every position including the life-long Paramount Chief Leadership.
It’s no longer a secret that Paramount Chiefs are not respected as before because of their direct involvement in body politics which is completely wrong.
Paramount Chiefs used to look at people and tell them the truth to their faces but today it is very difficult for them to do so for fear of losing their positions.
The primary reason why Bra Parrot has respect for Chiefs is because he himself hails from a ruling house and mindful of being independent at every given time more so when he wants to maintain his respect.
