Another defense counsel JJ Vandy Esq. is now defending Ali Jaffal.
But Tuma Adama Gento Kamara Née Jabbie and JM Jengo Esq did not show up.
The defense counsel JJ Vandy Esq re-newed the bail application and notify the bench and that his client (Ali Jaffal) is still suffering from a heart problem.
In his ruling, magistrate Santigie Bangura told the defense that he stood by his word saying unless the High court grants bail before he considers such.
As they went and applied for bail at the High Court, he said court supersedes the lower court.
The accused Ali Jaffal on Monday 6th May made his fifth appearances before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.2 Pademba Road, Freetown, on six counts charges of possession of arms without license, possession of ammunition without license, having in control small arms without license and other related offences all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the indictments, the accused on the 6th April 2024, at Young Sports Club (YSC) facility at Wilkinson road Freetown was found in possession of one Makarov pistol without license.
The police further alleged that the accused on the same date and place was found in possession of six 9*19 millimeter without license.
State Counsel Yusufu Isaac Sesay prosecuted the matter and J. J. Vandi defended Ali Jaffal.
Sesay informed the court that their witness was unavoidably absent in court and asked for an adjourned date.
The matter was adjourned to Wednesday 8th May 2024.
