Considering the significance in training farmers to become successful in agribusiness entrepreneurship for food sufficiency and food security in the country
The Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture ( SLCCIA), The CTI LTD with support from The World Bank through *The Skills Development Fund (SDF) Secretariat and The GET-Ahead program by The International Labour Organization of the UN has collaboratively trained Sixty-Eight (68) leaders of The Everybody Must Farm (EMF) organization farming groups nationwide
Agnes Sia Bangalie, The PRO 1, Office of the President EMF disclosed that national body gives more information on the training, wherein Forty (40) members were trained in Freetown and Twenty Eight (28) was trained at Graceland in Makeni town, Bombali District, Northern region Sierra Leone.
PRO 1 Agnes Sia Bangalie furthered that Three Hundred and Eight (308) heads of farming groups are expected to be trained across the country with the help of developmental partners and sponsors. In addition, the trained farmers are also expected to implement the knowledge gained from the training about food sufficiency and security, access to finance, storage facilities,
Transporting of food products to sales point, Preservation, processing and marketing of products in their communities .
The Presidential Spokesperson of The EMF said the private sector organization should focus on Massive Awareness Raising Actions and training of farmers to become successful agribusiness entrepreneurs that will lead to achieving the goals of Zero hunger campaign.
