As the ongoing transformation is underway at Angola field, FC Kallon, embarks an ambitious project to install artificial turf at the Angola playfield at Goderich.
This development comes as numerous playgrounds across the country are undergoing similar upgrades by FIFA.
A perimeter fence marking the initial stage of the project is to be started first.
The existing MK3/10 Angola field is notorious for its uneven surfaces and textures which pose challenges for players’ movement and ball control over the years.
Artificial turf capacities to revolutionize the field are very advantageous than lower surface friction of natural grass field. It will provide players with better footing as it reduces the problems.
Speaking to the CEO of FC Kallon CEO, Mohamed Kallon, online, Kallon said that he had previously appealed to fans, well-wishers, and corporate institutions for their support in making this project a reality. His club views this initiative as a significant step towards improving the overall standard of football in Sierra Leone and he dreams to provide a top-notch facility for his team and the community.
He noted that the development at Angola coincides with a trend of artificial turf installations across Sierra Leone. And that it signifies a potential leap-forward for the country’s football infrastructural development.
Isatu Kamara, a strong fan of FC Kallon says the development is apt and credible, adding that the CEO is always in-touch with the fan base.
