Members of the House of Representatives have been invited to scrutinise the bill entitled, “Anti-money Laundry Act 2023.
The MPs will be looking at the impact of terrorism and how money laundering seriously affects Sierra Leoneans.
In a public notice issued by the clerk of parliament, it is stated that “The Office of the Clerk of Parliament wishes to inform all Honourable Members of Parliament and the General Public that there will be a pre-legislative hearing on Monday March 04, 2024 in Committee Room One, Parliament Building at 11: 00 a.m.
The engagement will be around a document (bill) entitled: “The Anti-Money Laundering and Combating of Financing of Terrorism and Financing the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction Act, 2023”.
“MPs are all encouraged to attend and on time,” the press notes stated.
MPs are expected to give their valuable inputs in the document and
ensure that the Act becomes a good working document for all and sundry.
