A group of disgruntled female members of the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) administration, preferred to remain anonymous have voiced out their anger in respect of the current state of affairs in the country including but not limited to the never ending economic hardship, hyper inflation, incessant power outage and daily increase in prices of essential commodities (fuel, rice) to the default of the president’s preferred appointees including ministers to important public offices.
They alleged that most of those he had appointed since his first term in office spanning 2018, have done little or nothing thus making things only more difficult for both the people and the president himself because he has not been able to fulfill his key campaign promises. “Some have been and still remian dead woods,” the irate supporters insist. They added: “But it’s no entirely their fault. It’s the fault of our very president because he knew good number of them have been away for quite a long time and no longer au fait with what have been happening here, so their bags are always packed in case of the worst case scenario.”
The displeased members said those who had stood firm with the president and know the problems of the people are yet to reap what they had sewn over the years with time fast running out.
They have therefore pleaded with the President to have a rethink and clean his government of the dead woods if he wants things to take the right shape.
But despite the show of their public resentment, they said they will continue to support the president until the needful is done.
