The township of Port Loko in Sierra Leone is rejoicing a major upgrade to its local sport field as it has been rehabilitated.
The project which aligns with the country’s development of modern sporting facilities has transformed the field with brand new features.
Gone are the days of the worn-out, dusty pitch of Port Loko but not now.
The Port Loko town field now boasts of having a good artificial turf surface, a level playing field for athletes, boxers and other sporting disciplines.
This upgrade eliminates uneven areas and muddy conditions that previously hampered performance.
The improvements go beyond the playing surface. New perimeter fencing enhances security and control, while floodlights open up the possibility for night-time games and training sessions.
The project is a welcome development for the local community and residents are excited about the potential for the transformed field to revitalize sporting activity in the area.
It’s anticipated that the new facilities will not only provide much-needed support for players and athletes but will also serve as a source of pride for the entire town.
