Sierra Leoneans have registered their regret over the poor electricity supply by the government.
“We see no reason for voting a regime that cannot be able to provide electricity in the capital Freetown.
“This situation has cost the loss of lives in hospitals,” one Adama Sandi said.
What was worst that Adama Sandi explained was that food stuff spoiled in freezers almost on a daily basis.
She stated that many have considered the current Minister of Energy Minister as “ineffectual” as he cannot provide power supply to residents of Freetown.
According to her, the epileptic electricity has forced selling of her ginger beer and other drinks to stop automatically.
“Darkness has been the order of the day. There is no longer availability of electricity in Sierra Leone,” she said.
The consumers pointed out that EDSA’s inefficiency has heightened their sufferings as they largely depend on electricity as a means of survival.
“It is very pathetic and embarrassing as people.” “After over 62 years the people are dwelling in darkness with no hope to ameliorate the situation,” one Amadu Jalloh, an actvitist, had stated.
Meanwhile, the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has informed the general public that due to a number of current unfortunate challenges along the energy supply chain, the authority is currently challenged in providing adequate electricity to Freetown network.
The release went on that EDSA would like its customers to know that this unfortunate situation has resulted to a reduce power supply and distribution to residents of Freetown until the problem is completely resolved.
The institution also stated that the authority and other key stakeholders are using all resources within their reach to resolve the issue.
EDSA pointed out that once addressed more power supply will be make available to its valued customers in Freetown.
“We therefore apologize to residents of Freetown for the inconvenience this situation has caused and promised to resolve the problem as soon as possible,” the release said.
