The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Teachers’ Union (SLTU) has put out a press release on the reopening of the WAEC examination portal for the National Primary School Examination (NPSE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The extension of the portal spans Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th midnight February 2024. This is after it was opened twice before now.
The Ministry urges all heads of schools that did not upload during the previous two openings of the portal to take advantage of this opportunity. Additionally, heads of schools that are challenged with the process of upload should come to WAEC and MBSSE Headquarters for technical support within this window.
The Ministry is encouraging all parents/guardians to check with the heads of their children’s schools in order to ascertain whether or not the entries are uploaded and that their children are registered.
It is important to note that the entry process/uploading to the WAEC portal is the beginning of the Examination circle. It is the most important stage of the entire examination. The entries are what inform the number of question papers and scan-ables to be printed, number of examination centers to be created, number of invigilators and monitors, and also the number of examiners to be recruited to mark the papers for early release of the results. This makes it very critical for everybody to comply within this period of reopening.
