The Wise Bird will never tell lies to satisfy the public or to curry favour from the public. His concerns are about the people of Sierra Leone and their well-being, and that is more the reason the animal will never compromise his integrity for coco-yebeh.
The bird is always fighting to maintain his credibility so that, the respect and honour might not drop in the mud for people to laugh at him.
The Wise Bird is well-known for calling things by their correct and proper names and at the right time. This is so because the bird is a lover of peace, unity and stability at all times.
Notwithstanding, the hardship in the country, with all fairness to the Bio led administration, the government has been doing well in the area of health even though Mr Bio hasn’t not put health as his priority in his agenda.
The Wise Bird has been moving from hospital to hospital to look at the condition of the hospitals, patients and how the drugs are administered to the sick, and whether or not they are getting the correct drugs as the government is doing everything humanly possible for the people to get the drugs.
In his tour, the Wise Bird noticed that some hospitals were without drugs and other equipment to keep the hospital running, and the bird imagined in surprise where were all the drugs gone; the ones government have been supplying to the hospitals.
The Wise Bird wasted no time but it flew to the medical stores to get first-hand information on the issue of drugs which are developing wings.
The information the Wise Bird got news from some workers at the medical stores and the talk was not good to hear or talk about.
The bird was told that most of the senior workers at the medical stores run ‘private pharmacies’ where these drugs are taken to be sold at the detriment of the sick people in our gov’t hospitals.
The bird was also told that, those who do not own pharmacies, they often sell the drugs to other pharmacies owners at higher costs.
After hearing all the negative things about our medical stores, the Wise Bird wept bitterly in sympathy with the government.
To get to know more, the Wise Bird went to one of the pharmacies in Freetown to get some drugs. And in the pharmacy, one of the workers was asking his work-mate whether the people from the medical stores had brought in the consignment of drugs.
Upon hearing that fly-by-past news from the worker, the Wise Bird came to the conclusion that, indeed, drugs are sold to different pharmacies operating in the country.
The Wise Bird was also told that there are some connivance activities occurring between The Pharmacy Board and the so- called medical stores in respect of the unauthorized selling of the State drugs.
