The most respected, patriotic and uncompromising bird of all times will never be short of news as the people he is representing have confidence in the “great bird” as the people always want to know about the daily happenings in the country.
The Wise Bird is moving all over the city to get correct and accurate news.
From the latest press conference organized by the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC) party which is organized to inform, educate and to bring the people closer to the ongoing Tripartite Committee, rumours have it that the Committee is apparently not working in the best interest of the people of Sierra Leone.
At that press conference, the Co-Chair of the Tripartite Committee, Dr. Kaifala Marah, said among other things that the Committee was set up to review the 2023 general election and that the Committee had received a bulk of documents demanded but more documents are still being withheld.
The Wise Bird overheard the Co-Chair saying, the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), Office of National Security (ONS), Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and Statistics Sierra Leone (SSL), to name but a few, have all honoured the request made by the Committee to bring forth documents pertaining to the elections conduct.
The Co-Chair was very clear by saying that the Tripartite Committee is bigger than the APC, SLPP and even the government of Sierra Leone.
However, he pointed out that, the Committee has no intention to push or extend the review process.
The Wise Bird understood from the discussion that, about 45 or more documents are to be submitted, and 35 out of 45 documents are to be given by ECSL alone, he said.
From the look of things, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has not submitted a single paper (document) to the Committee, meaning ECSL has little or no respect for the Tripartite Committee relating to the review of the 2023 general elections.
From all indications, the Wise Bird seems to be more organized than ECSL, because Bra Parrot can give an account of all its publications since its inception but ECSL cannot tell nor is it able to give a imagine that an electoral institution which was established by Parliament cannot account for an exercise that the said Commission had itself poured money on to carry out as required by the law.
This sounds as clear indication to claim that the 2023 general election was faulty, not free, fair and far from being credible, and the election was full of controversies.
The people of Sierra Leone are anxiously waiting to see the outcome of the Tripartite Committee.
