Former Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana, on Saturday 27th April 2024 honoured the invitation by His Excellency Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio for offering of the inter-religious prayers.
The prayers were held in commemoration of Sierra Leone’s 63rd Independence Anniversary; the spiritual ceremony which was done at State House grounds prayed by many on behalf of the entire nation.
The event was graced by other dignitaries such as former Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh, government ministers, members of parliament, ambassadors of various countries and invited members of the public.

Prayers were held in both Christian and Muslim fashion by reaffirming the country’s religious tolerance and care for one another.
The former Vice President, Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana had the privilege of meeting friends from the other side of the political divide and the interaction looked very cordial.
Many said it reassured Sierra Leoneans the great hopes for future political tolerance in Sierra Leone.
