The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, says he will chase out the monies owed by state institutions.
He says the Bio’s government will have to pay salaries of workers, and so anywhere monies of the state are, he would ensure they are recovered by him and his committee.
The deputy speaker made the submissions on Tuesday 25th June 2024 at the Administrative building in Parliament.
He admonished officials from the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) to work as a team for the progress and development of the country.
Hon. Tawa said his committee would soon work closely with the bank to re-assess and ensure that internal issues and minor issues which are not supposed to be in the Auditor General’s report are cleared before the coming year.
Just week ago, the deputy Speaker, said his committee had recovered Le 10 billion and assured of Le39 billion will be recovered in weeks to come.
The PAC Chairman said his committee is well determined to hold public officials accountable and put more premium on transparency.
In a related development, the Leader of opposition in parliament, Hon Abdul Kargbo had warned the presidential appointees to do due diligence while in their offices.
Hon Abdul Kargbo made the submissions during the approval of the presidential nominees in the Chambers of Parliament.
He extended his advice to the presidential nominees who shall be going to their offices but without doing nothing regarding pushing for the development of the country.
