All People’s Congress (APC)’s MP from Karene District, Hon. Mohamed Bangura has expressed his opinion that the Tripartite Committee and Dr. Samura are powerless as they are unable to change the outcome of last year’s June 24 election in Sierra Leone in favour of APC.
He made the submissions during a press conference organized at his office in Parliament.
Hon. Bangura threw some clarity on issues that relating to the Tripartite Committee for which the APC had suspended its participation.
He said the APC had pulled out from the Tripartite Committee at the 11th hour, something many believe is a sign for a recipe of chaos.
Hon. Bangura asked the leadership to relinquish their positions in the APC party.
He said they have failed the supporters of the party.
Bangura traced his thoughts that after the elections lot of things have been happening and the party was told by many to have gone to court.
He said the election in Karene District was not fair but it announced President Julius Maada Bio.
He maintained that the APC also boycotted itself from participating in governance including going to Parliament and attending Councils’ meetings.
He said he had advised the party to come to Parliament first before it could challenge the results.
He also insisted that he would come to Parliament with Hon. Alfred Thompson despite they have been banned by the party.
He blamed not the ECSL.
Bangura said it is now one year gone and the APCs have not done anything to restructure their house.
He said if the APC is unable to change the narratives let it accepts their fate and move on.
He said Dr Samura Kamara has failed the people, adding that the Tripartite Committee will call not for a re-run elections.
He stated that the party is giving false hope to the APC party supporters.
He went on to say that a lot of investments and businesses are not coming in the country.
He pointed out that lots of people are leaving the country because of the tension and the APC’s backing out of the Tripartite Committee has already intensified the tension.
“If this decision causes the country to fail the MCC, who will suffer most?” he asked.
He urged all to stop thinking about themselves alone but for the masses.
He said a lot of things went wrong during the elections and decisions were taken wrongly.
Bangura stressed that leadership is God-given thing and called for Dr. Samura Kamara to let go.
