The fourth and final prosecution witnesses on the Gold Seal Store theft, Umaru Tarawalie, a labourer of BSB Company has told Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Ross Road Court No. 1 that he was the one who noticed the alleged theft at the Gold Seal Company.
The accused Amadu Koroma and Alimamy Kamara are before the court after police investigation for redress on allegations of conspiracy to commit felony and larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.
The first accused, Amadu Koroma was taken to court for stealing from Gold Seal Company thirty-six bag rice and ten thousand empty bags, while the second accused Alimamy Kamara was dragged for allegedly receiving the empty bags and put them on sales.
When the matter was charged to court, the complainant narrated how he came to notice that the 36 bag rice and 10,000 empty bags were stolen and the steps he took to report the matter to the police.
Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of Police, Osman Mohamed Bangura PW4 said he recognized complainant Amadu Sow and the first accused as a colleague labourer.
He said on the 4th of March 2023, he was at the BSB store on Kennedy Street when his boss, the complainant, Amadu Sow sent him to check for the empty Gold seal and Chinese bags. He said returned and informed his boss that the bags are nowhere to be seen.
The fourth witness stated that he informed his boss that he saw the bags at one petty trader store at Kanikay, East of Freetown.
Upon reaching that point, Defense Counsel, AS Sesay objected to the way the prosecutor was leading the witness.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura ordered the prosecutor to adjourn the matter to get better conference with his client.
The matter was adjourned to Monday 24th May, 2023.
