Hypocrisy is a man-made phenomenon, this is more the reason why, the problems we are facing today cannot be unconnected with the hypocrisy we make in handling State matters that are of very serious national interest.
Let me just hasten to say here that, Sierra Leoneans really know the issues that are affecting them as a nation. But they deliberately failed to call them by their correct names because of party affiliation, they failed to say the truth, also failed to be honest and sincere in deciding the fate of this nation.
The Bible is very clear in saying that, “Those who speak the truth will be saved,” but today, people who are in position of trust have failed to say the truth so that, the problem(s) will be solved once and for all, they are very careless in doing so rather they are only bent on selfishness and greed.
Even the present political situation in the country today, is not so much difficult to be solved if only the Religious Leaders the Imams and Pastors are sincere and honest to themselves. If, and if only the Religious Leaders are not politicians themselves and are ready to call things by their proper names, Sierra Leone will be a better place for all Sierra Leoneans. Sorry to say, all of them have taken sides in the Country’s political problems so it will be very difficult for Sierra Leone to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Sierra Leone can only develop if, and only if, Sierra Leoneans particularly the Religious Leaders put their negative attitudes aside and address ourselves to the problems affecting the nation then the people will be at peace.
The problems of the country started from those whom we considered to be educated people.
Those educated people referred to as the elites and people have so much respect for are the enemies of the State if people don’t know.
They have failed everybody including themselves they have failed to contribute immensely to the national development of the country.
If, the elites as we call them are able to address themselves in a very positive and proper manner, the issues of the country will be solved at no time. The idea of sycophancy is another dangerous aspect that has destroyed the democratic fabric of our nation.
I urge all patriotic and well meaning Sierra Leoneans to put all hands on deck and make Sierra Leone a place worth living.
