Magistrate Samuel Koroma has asked for one Abu Bakar Kamara a complainant who was defrauded to come to court in order to question him concerning the matter he brought in court in which the prosecutor said the accused has pleaded guilty.
The accused Mohamed Tejan Fornah is before the court on preliminary investigation for fraudulent conversation contrary to section 20(iv) (a) of the larceny Act of 1916.
It was alleged on the charge sheet that on Saturday 26th February 2023, at Fattah Rahman Street, the accused converted to his own use and benefits certain properties to wit fifty seven bags of rice and other properties worth forty three thousand nine hundred and ninety Leones (Le 43, 990, 00) entrusted to him by complainant Abu Bakar Kamara for sales purpose.
Prosecuted by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Fatmata Kuyateh the accused wasted no time but pleaded guilty to the charges.
Shortly after the matter was mentioned yesterday by the court clerk, the prosecutor informed the Bench about the plea of the accused and further stated that his client was absent because he is writing the WASSCE exam.
Magistrate Koroma has adviced the prosecutor to select a date in which the complainant will be available in court because he wanted to ask him certain questions in relation to the matter in the court.
