The Wise Bird is in sympathy with the All People’s Congress (APC) party for not being able to put their house in order up-to-date since after all the harassments, victimizations and humiliations by the sitting government.
People from all walks of life know that the brave bird has no party, and does not support any of the parties currently in the country. Because they are all the same by way of doing things, either directly or indirectly; only that the bird loves to call things by their correct and proper names.
As one Sierra Leonean musician (Emerson) said at a time that the truth has no other name, the truth is always the truth, and it must be treated as such; this is exactly what the Wise Bird is doing to tell the truth.
The Wise Bird was going through some documents when he saw a Press Release dated 23rd May, 2024 written and signed by the Secretary General of the party.
According to the letter/press release Chief Alhaji Samuel Sumana’s re-admission to the APC during its February National Delegates Conference was affirmed in Makeni. The letter/press release further states that the affirmation was in compliance with the APC November 2022 Constitution.
As the Wise Bird does not want to tell lies to the people he represents, he was very quick to consult the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of current English to be more au fait with the meaning of re-admit.
According to the dictionary, re-admit simply means: to allow to join a group, an organization or an institution ‘AGAIN’ and by this explanation, it means that, Chief Sam Sumana is a NEW MEMBER TO THE PARTY. And if he is new in the party, he cannot contest for the Flag-bearer position come 2028.
However, the Wise Bird is of the view that, in the interest of fair-play or level playing field for a reconciliation and unity within the party a lot of things should have been ignored and let go.
The Wise Bird is envisaging another split in the party, but the bird only hopes that it will not happen.
The Wise Bird as usual went out to get the general views of the people, all those the Wise Bird came in contact with expressed dismay over the decision of the party by way of not creating a level playing field, a senior APC member, has said.
Another member said the timing is very wrong believing that it is not in the best interest of the party.
This decision, he says, will affect the party one way or the other, and almost all those the bird had spoken to expressed similar sentiments as a power struggle continues within the APC party.
