As the wise bird continues to turn the pages of the Audit Report of 2022, the brave bird is also in the position to bring to the people the reality on the ground.
The brave, fearless and patriotic bird was quick to turn to pages 283 and 284 of the report and saw a caption, ‘DISTRICT HEALTH MANAGEMENT, Kailahun-2022’, and a sub-caption, Missions and Operations of the DHMT not Effective.
The wise bird took time to read the report in order to avoid misquoting the documents by way of not giving correct, accurate and unquestionable news to the people he is representing.
Bra Parrot noticed from the report that, quarterly drugs were not received on time for delivery to the various peripheral health units (PHUs) which ran out of essential drugs.
The report also shows that, medical equipment such as BP machines, scales and salter, thermometer pulse and many more are unavailable in the PHUs.
The brave bird further noticed from the report that, the delay in assessing the PHUs and lack of ambulances to escort pregnant women to referral hospital is another problem.
The most amazing thing that beats the imagination of the wise bird is when the bird saw from the report that, EXPIRED ASSORTED DURGS were found packed in a container, for what only God knows.
According to the report, there was no report to justify that, these expired drugs had been reported of to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.
The wise and patriotic bird will continue to turn the pages of the Auditor-General’s Report since it is a public document and it is in the best interest of the people of Sierra Leone to know about what the document says.
