The Wise Bird has the greatest respect for all those in authority; this is because some day the animal Kingdom might want to conduct an election to have a leader, and since the Wise Bird may be interested to become a leader one day, and so he needs great respect at all times.
There is a saying that ‘’to be respected, you must be respectful,’’ and this means if you want others to respect you as a leader, you must first of all respect your subjects and this is what is referred to in English as to reciprocate.
The Wise Bird does not want to be misunderstood; he is not saying that leaders do not have respect for their subjects.
In the animal Kingdom, all animals have respect for their leaders.
More burden have been added to my President, your President, and our President by way of taking over the Ministry of Energy.
The President was at one time quoted as saying, sacking the former Minister of Energy; Alhaji Kanja Sesay would not bring stable light (electricity) to the Capital Freetown.
The question people are asking is that, now that the President has taken over, will there be permanent light in the city, Freetown?
What the Wise Bird is saying is that, even if the former President of America George Bush is to be made Energy boss in Sierra Leone, as long as the alleged US$ 46million is not fully paid to the Karpowership; forget it, the situation will continue to be the same. Plus, minus, Bio as Minister of Energy is never a guarantee for permanent light in the city, Freetown.
The Wise Bird is saying that with the President at the helm of affairs in the Power Ministry, maybe things will partly work, because those old guys in the Ministry know how to manipulate the system to their own advantage.
Bra Parrot is very much pessimistic that, even though the President is now the head in the Ministry, the people of Sierra Leone had seen scenarios when the President came in office with vigour, but later his whole beautiful ideas to get the country on track died natural death.
Take for example, when the President came to power in 2018, he was the first to go to his office, he used to announce his delegation for overseas trips, on the cleaning exercise the amount spent was made public but all of these had died a natural death.
What guarantee will the people have in respect of lighting system in the city?
Will the President bring sustainable light in Freetown?
