Following the instantaneous security threat in the country, many patriotic citizens have realized that it has now gone beyond political tussle for leadership or acrimony between the SLPP and the APC nor does any citizen myopically limit the scenario to President Bio and his SLPP cohort’s remover from power.
Since we do not want to go back to those horrible days of rebel war, many concerned citizens are calling for a watertight security network in the country which demands unanimous contributions in which we have to be our brother’s keepers and indulge into extra vigilance to protect our only motherland from another national debacle.
In a bid to add credence to the endless clamour of numerous concerned citizens, the president of the Sierra Leone Traditional Healers Association SLENTHA, Dr. Alhaji Mohamed Konneh recently disclosed to africa24 that out of national survey conducted by the organization, they discovered that the country has about 434 footpath border crossing points apart from the main crossing points on land, such as Sierra Leone through Gendema village in Pujehun district to Liberia and the Gbalamuya village in Kambia district in Sierra Leone along Guinea border as well as sea and air travelling.
He added that as they are bush people who know all these areas very well, they will be able to man them to stop even rats from crossing illegally, let alone humans. And this will boost our security strength in the country fully cover and net our territorial border dimension.
The President also assured that the moment the forty thousands (40,000) territorial guard project is approved; they will man all these areas effectively as long as government gives them the mandate.
