A 10 – year-old girl mysteriously disappeared at Moa Wharf community since last week Thursday.
Lucy Kamara could not be traced since her disappearance about five days ago.
Her father had gone the breath and width of Moa Wharf and beyond but couldn’t find her daughter.
He has been weeping intermittently while Lucy’s mum has been bitterly crying back home, upcountry.
The child is the daughter of Alimamy Morlai Kamara who resides at Moa Warf by Guard Street, east of Freetown.
Lucy attends UMC primary school around UMC Eye Clinic along Bai Bureh Road in Freetown.
She was last seen at her father’s home on Thursday 9th April, 2024 and never went to school on that day.
But Alimamy said she had called up Lucy’s mother in the village but she told him the child is not with her.
After asking neighbours about Lucy’s trace, Alimamy had expected the police at Moa Wharf to do a “thorough search” but police officers never showed any interest in the matter.
So he decided to report to Ross Road police station. Moa Wharf has mini-police post but residents say it is not effective especially when cases of missing children happen such as those drowning in the sea.
“Pray that you child never lost; you won’t get police to seriously go in search of homes and people or find the child’s whereabouts,” says a Moa Wharf resident.
Lucy is black and has squinted eyes. She was born on 27 April 2014, and she is the daughter of Marie kargbo who lives at Makomp Bana in Makeni on Magburaka High way.
