It is incredible the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) has opened a bid for clubs in the first division category for teams to apply.
The Head of Media and Communications, David Gerald Turner in a press statement informed all legitimate Division One Clubs in the Western Area to tender a bid of application for the upcoming league.
He noted that, only valid members of WAFA will qualify to contest in this year’s tournament, adding that there must be proper and credible documentations for any team to qualify in the 2023/24 season.
He also called on new members to be part of this process, even though they are faced with challenges moving forward.
However, some few clubs disclosed to Africa24 sports that WAFA is not doing well for upcoming clubs in Freetown due to their slots and requirements. He called on government and the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to look into the biding process of WAFA, over the years as the process lacks transparency and credibility.
