There is nothing like a post truth in the Grand Old Party as the opposition APC Party of Sierra Leone has continued to be polarized with regional, national and tribal identity crisis. A disaster in their own making after decades of governing with nothing to write home about, but violence and corruption.
This galvanized character has been an immense legacy constrained and manufactured by the party’s pioneering icon, Ernest Bai Koroma, who dominated and polarized the identity politics of the APC party .
The fundamental problems facing the opposition APC Party is their brace of life after Ernest Bai Koroma which was destined for a new era of hegemony, but rather was transformed into an alienation of influential Party members who have dominated every sphere of the party and holding down to the ground their gullible and illiterate blind followers.
In today’s Sierra Leone, the dynamism and the fabrics of politics is drastically changing, and our cultural values have become increasingly diverse and important as technology is increasingly playing a vital role in our daily lives . The partisan divide has not only strengthened our cultural identities but also accelerated the trend of our culture as we move towards the Africa’s political main arena.
The New APC has a wider range of issues with its members and supporters alienating a cross section of larger number which has ultimately created instability and expectations or uncertainties in grave caution.
The APC’S discourse of cultural , regional and tribal marginalisation is shrinking the party’s base of support. It is time the Grand Old Party must come out with a convincing and well constructed counter narrative to what direction it wants to lead its die heart members.
After years of turmoil and drift, the Grand Old Party needs a comprehensive turn around from an embarrassing charade to a modern day politics devoid of false propaganda, innuendos and apparently non-violence .
If their Messiah, Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara is to be trusted as a faithful leader to steer the ship of leadership in the APC Party, he and his cronies must do more to unify the party members and supporters, backing it up with concrete steps and NOT by just empty promises and their abilities of demoralizing their well formidable and unbeatable opponents.
The worst thing Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara and his cohorts have done in the Grand Old Party is the destruction of hope in their Party. They have allowed insanity to become a normal space station which is now their worst whopper in their failed political campaign season .
Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara who is being surrounded by gloomy sinister comrades is the ” boring ” choice to replace the God father and tormentor of the APC Party the well revered, manipulator and fearless Ernest Bai Koroma.
His tenure of leadership in the Party did not get any better but worse due to the reign of misplaced cultural identity he shamelessly tore apart and played down the party by looking down of his fellow men and women with impunity and no mercy.
Dr. Samura Kamara must fight with all his might to win back the influential APCians and he needs to resist some ill advice from his so- called cronies and modernize the party from it archaic principles and devilish beliefs .
The party’s deputy National chairman Alhaji Usman Yansaneh who is terminally sarcastic and very ancient has to know that, his anti – South- Eastern rants didn’t go down well with most supporters and sympathisers of the party. His rhetoric will not help his party to win the general election but rather likely to have the opposite effect on the Party. Mr. Yansaneh should realize that Sierra Leone is a tolerant, Compassionate and welcoming Country and not an anti – regional or tribal.
Mr. Yansaneh who has ramped up his anti- South Eastern rhetoric, has dramatically overstated his political stands and has created a divide and rule in the party. It’s now hard to refute the notion that, the Opposition APC Party is not organized and derided electorally toxic with no unity in going forward to this election.
As the incumbent president Rt. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio is busy making inroads in the Opposition red wall zone, supporters of the Red Warriors are busy fanning the flames of bigotry on Social media with propaganda, hate and lies and the infamous mammy cuss-cuss .
Accusing president Bio for not doing anything constructive and positive for the people of Sierra Leone during his five years tenure in office will not lead them anywhere because the wring is on the wall and the president’s achievements and sustainable developments schemes are there to be seen.
But if it’s anything to go by such allegations, he will definitely face an electoral apocalypse especially in the strong Red Wall areas of the opposition All people’s Congress Party Northern region.
As the race to the State House is now numbered, both enthusiasts and unenthusiastic APCians will soon head to the polls on June 24, 2023, but if Dr. Samura Kamara failed to appease and heed to the advice, and his Party fails to recognize the danger and to change his narrative, it will just be a matter of time before that disastrous fate will befall him.
“Beware the Ides of June”
As Sierra Leoneans, we don’t want to be defined just by our history. What Sierra Leoneans need is a President who is a unifier, and whose rhetorics are nothing less but patriotism and a better nation where all can live in peace, global prosperity and harmony.
LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE OF SIERRA LEONE
GOD BLESS US ALL!!
