As the brave bird usually says that it has never told lies to the people of this nation; that’s more the reason the bird is flying the length and breadth of the Country to get the facts before communicating those facts to the people.

Bra Parrot reads widely and listens to news on radio, watches television (TV) and sometimes goes to social media to listen to audios and watch video clips.

The bird was fortunate to come across an audio together with a video clip in which the Chairman of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party(SLPP), Dr. Prince Harding, was featured in.

After the controversial election results were announced by the Chief Returning Officer, Mr. Mohamed K. Konneh, and the immediate swearing in of the current President as winner, it remains to be a mystery to many in and out of the Country.

The Chairman of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party(SLPP)Dr. Prince Harding was addressing party supporters with jubilation after the announcement of the results, the Chairman misfired heavily.

According to the video clip the brave bird listened to, the Chairman was referring to the International Observers who were sent to observe the June 24, 2023 elections as ‘academic dwarfs’. And he did not only stop at that, he went further to say that, they (his party) would not hand-over power to MAD PEOPLE and that, they would never hand-over power again to APC, not in this Country. In a related development, his boss has earlier on said a ‘bunch of foolish’ people wanted the system to be changed after the announcement of the results. He might mean his government in this context.

Almost a month or two, the same Dr. Prince Harding came back on radio by way of talking peace with those he had previously referred to as MAD PEOPLE.

Dr. Prince Harding said on radio that, it is necessary for all the factions to sit together in an African way. So that, they all could forget about war, war and think about peace. He went on to say that APC is not an enemy to them and that they are all brothers and sisters.

Dr. Harding did not stop at that, he also said SLPP cannot go without the APC and other political parties in the governance system.

“He is ready to work with others,” Prince Harding said, and if he is seen as the obstacle in the peace process he will resign his position in the interest of peace. Without peace, they as a party will not be able to deliver what they have promised to the people.

The problem the brave bird has had with Dr. Harding was and still is that, it appears like he did not think before he speaks. As chairman of the party, many say, there was no need for him to make any statement at that critical early stage.

Dr. Harding was also wrong to have referred to the International Observers as “Academic Dwarfs.” There was no need for him to say that they would not hand-over power to “mad people” and to further say out a lot of other insulting words.

The brave bird would love to see how an Academic Doctor will sit on the same table with mad people to talk about peace.

Anyway, the brave bird is just thinking aloud now that in case after an election in the future and the results turn out the other way will the SLPP refuse to hand-over power?
