As she excels in an intensifying first half, striker Fatmata Turay, has broken a deadlock her team had suffered just in a 42 minute of a recent match.
This happens after she gave her team, Citadel Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at the recess against Mercer University.
Fatmata Turay’s 42-minute strike marks her first goal in the 2023/24 Southern conference in the United States of America and played a vital role for her side to secure a 2-1 win against Mercer University in their opening match of the new league season.
Turay moved to America in 2022, during her first season with The Citadel Bulldogs. Being there, she’s registered a total of four goals contributing to the team’s progress. Her recent achievements for the team include: two goals and two assists, which all came in a 9-0 win over SC State University when Turay was introduced during the second half of the match.
The striker who has represented Sierra Leone in several categories unto attaining the Sierra Queens vice-captain position is delighted to have scored her side’s first goal of the season and looking forward to a promising campaign.
She brims with joy: “All thanks to God, first goal and first win for the 2023/24 season,” the delighted Fatmata Turay said.
