Sources close to the corridors of the All People’s Congress party Headquarters along Old Railway Line have revealed to this medium that the party delegates have refused to nominate former Honourable Emmanuel Saidu Conteh of Constituency 129 to represent the party in forthcoming June 24th elections.
Sources confirmed that the delegates nominated his strong main rival, Alfred Thompson who has been in battle with the former Hon. Saidu Conteh since the 2018 parliamentary nomination.
Sources disclosed that Mr. Saidu Conteh has failed to perform his duties as representative of his constituency due to so many undone and snail pace development during his past five years, adding that the party do not intend to lose any West-west district seats and preferred Alfred Thompson to him because of the former’s development records in the various Wards and Constituency as a whole.
Some residents whom this medium interviewed as at press time have said that Mr. Saidu Conteh has been biased in terms of development as he was more focus on developing Congo town and Water Street and secluded Tengbeh Town which is the core stronghold of the party. They rained praises on the nominated MP, Alfred Thompson for constructing the bridge connecting Tengbeh Town and Congo Cross and describe him as a philanthropist who they said has been offering scholarships to less privilege school children and paying tuition fees for college student.
