Reports from the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) alleged that as resentment keep growing amongst many people who have been patiently waiting to see the back of the Director General Mr. Amara Kanneh whose official mandate had long been expired, are still in oblivion about the incommunicado that they have been since 23rd August,2023 when the Director’s time ended.
Nevertheless, many of these silent despondent people including Engineers are planning a big demonstration over the issue, but what remains unclear is the form that it will take and against who they intend to do it because it is not Mr. Kanneh that singularly determines his fate whether he likes it or not more so when he himself knows that his time is up; albeit their secret plan, the million dollar question is who will bell the cat?
The fact remains that for the past years, not much has been seen in the operations of that very significant government entity since Mr. Kanneh became head despite the fact that Sierra Leoneans considered good roads network as unavoidable component to development of any country yet there has been a semblance of vacuum in the SLPP developmental programmes in so many areas which is why they are eager to see it done this time. And their agitation cut across the country with the capital city being a focal point where many dwellers and road users are highly anxious to see all the feeder roads that were slated by government for rehabilitation including the Mayenkineh Road and many others come to fruition but they are apprehensive if the situation remains the same.
