As the Paris, France Olympic, sets to commence, a delegation from the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone, has presented their aid memo to Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio on Wednesday 17th January, 2024 at State House.
Mr. Prince Sualley, president of National Olympic Committee Sierra Leone NOC-SL, says the invitation letter for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, which are scheduled to hold in Paris, France, this year, will be challenging if government fails to intervene in terms of financial and logistical support.
He assured president Bio of their commitments to raising the country’s flag at an international level.
He said the Committee had also agreed to present to the president with a plaque, giving on behalf of the African Olympic in recognition of his support and contributions to games and sports.
In her account, the Minister of Sports, Augusta James Teima, said the new leadership of the National Olympic hopes to bring in more progress, noting that the government will work towards realizing the dreams of NOC while asking other sports helping organizations to do more.
President Bio appreciated the Committee for the courtesy call while congratulating them on their new roles.
He admonished them to do their best to ensuring that they motivated other people who’re looking forward to participating in the games.
