Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No.1 on Tuesday 17th January, 2023 ordered Bench warrant for the arrest for Lunsar town Youth leader Frank George Conteh for failing to appear in court.
The accused was charged to court for an offence of threatening language contrary to section 3(1) of the public order Act No.46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of offence, on Sunday 20th March, 2022 at the Lunsar town hall in the Marampa Chiefdom, northern region of Sierra Leone, the accused did use threatened language against Paramount Chief Koblo Queen with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of peace.
When the matter was mentioned, the accused was nowhere to be found within the precinct of the Court.
It was on that basis that State Counsel Y.I Sesay applied for a bench warrant for the accused to be arrested.
However, Magistrate N’gegba granted his request the matter was adjourned to the 31st January, 2023.
Meanwhile in the police file, progress report on the alleged case revealed that on the date of the incident, complainant PC Koblo Queen received a voice record (audio) in his mobile phone from social media via WhatsApp where the sender of the said audio was identified as Frank George Conteh, the Youth leader of Lunsar town threatened to killed him, defamed his character and used invective words against him thereby putting him in fear.
