The Wise Bird could vividly remember when President Julius Maada Bio was first elected in 2018 and assumed office.

He came with vigour as if he was coming to put pillars to rebuild the country and do the needful by the promises he made during his campaign days.

Little did the Wise Bird know that, it was what the people referred to as ‘fos time’ business? Upon his assumption of office, the Wise Bird noticed that the President issued out series of EXECUTIVE ORDERS to let the people know that he is here for business and not for business as usual.

But to the dismay of the people of Sierra Leone, all the EXECUTIVE ORDERS the President had put in place were all flouted to the extent that, nobody now speaks about them any longer, so it turns out to be just business is as usual.

The President spoke about retirement age which he said should be 60 year, for all civil servants to go, and from proper investigation, the retirement age allegedly has been extended from 60 to 65 to disadvantaged the younger ones; the Wise Bird stands to be corrected on this and that (the other executive order) all MDA’S should not hold meetings outside their ministries, but today meetings of MDA’S are held at Bintumani Conference hall not in their respective conference halls as was stated by the President.

All government workers should report for work at 8am daily but some workers now report at mid-day to their different offices not even to talk about the monthly national cleaning exercise that has died a natural death after billions of Leones have been misused in that course.

This is a clear indication that, the President himself does not stand by the EXECUTIVE ORDERS he himself had given out, or alternatively is it that, those who are supposed to enforce the ORDERS have failed to do so?

The Wise Bird as usual went out to sound the views of people on sensitive issues, the bird flew all the way to the second city Bo which is one of the strongholds of the President, as the people did not know they were talking the Wise Bird, they expressed dismay on the issue, saying all the EXECUTIVE ORDERS of the President did not work at all.

The bird flew to Kenema to another stronghold, this is just to get the views of people and their reactions; nobody supported the President in his ability not to enforce the EXECUTIVE ORDERS to the letter.

Coming back to Freetown, the Wise Bird stopped at Waterloo, as the town is densely populated these days, the bird came down to have discussions with the people in respect of the same issue not a single person supported the President in that regard. They stated that, the people have little or no respect for the ORDERS.

Bra Parrot even went to the police station at Waterloo, as if they knew the bird was in; the discussion the bird met took a different dimension.

The Wise Bird wasted no time, he took off for Freetown for fear of his safety, all those the bird came in contact with expressed similar sentiments just as those in Bo, Kenema, Waterloo and other places as they were saying the President cannot stand by his words to protect the EXECUTIVE ORDERS.

All the EXECUTIVE ORDERS by the President are not adhered to; they were flouted with impunity to say the least.
