Mohamed Omodu Kamara commonly known as Jagaban, a philanthropist who is well known for his stedfast dedication towards promoting the Muslim communities in Sierra Leone, has displayed his generosity towards his Muslim brothers and sisters this year’s Ramadan.
The donation was made on Friday 29 March, 2024. He generously donated five hundred million old Leones (Le500,000.00) to the United Council of Imams in Sierra Leone as Ramadan iftar.
This ceremony which attracted imams from different mosques across the country and also the executive of the United Council of Imams in Sierra Leone was hosted at Jagaban’s residence in Freetown
Speaking at the event, the Vice President of Jagaban Foundation, Abubakarr Batury stated that Jagaban who is a philanthropist over the years had been consistently displaying his generosity by extending a helping hand to various communities, groups of people, churches, mosques among others across Sierra Leone through the Jagaban Foundation.
Jagaban added that in this Holy month of Ramadan, he has again donated the sum of five hundred million Leones (500,000,000) to the United Council of Imams in Sierra Leone as Ramadan iftar to be given to members of the masjids in Sierra Leone.
He noted that Alhaji Mohamed Omodu is a devoted muslim with a kind-heart who has been providing vital assistance to Sierra Leoneans both home and abroad and he is always willing and ready to help.
“This is not the first time this organization has been providing assistance to Muslims across the country and it will not be the last,” he said.
Mr. Abu Bakarr stated that this year Ramadan, the Jagaban Foundation has decided to give out their Ramadan iftar to United Council of Imams because their membership cuts across every corner of the country.
Their intention on the donation is to reach even those in the remote areas.
Mufti Sheik Mohamed Thoma who is the National Mufti for the United Council of Imams in Sierra Leone while receiving the donation expressed thanks and appreciations to the Jagaban Foundation.
He sent specail thanks to especially the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohamed Omodu Kamara for his timely donation. He said the gifts mean a lot to them and it will go a long way considering the time of the arrival of the donations.
He pointed out that the United Council of Imams is made up of 60,000 members country wide and he said they are going to ensure that every single one of this number will benefit from this donation no matter which part of the country they may find themselves.
He underscores that Ramadan is a very special month and for any donation it doesn’t matter how small or big it is.
There is a great reward for doing a small or abundant good as the blessings and powers of Almighty Allah is in this holy month.
And because of the month’s uniqueness that is why it is called Holy month of Ramadan.
He disclosed that they are are going to make a special dua for Almighty Allah to continue to bless, protect and greatly reward the CEO of Jagaban Foundation and all its members.
