Bra Parrot being a lover of nature has pleasure visiting gardens, health parks to make itself confortable with the natural vegetation and environment.
In that regard, Bra Parrot decided to visit State Avenue and Sewa Grounds formerly called Victoria Park.
On its way, it came in contact with its nephews, Sparrow and Dove who were holding fruitful discussions regarding the importance of Sewa Grounds especially for the beautification of the city.
Interested in the discussion, Bra Parrot then started shaking its feathers in quest of wanting to fly to Victoria Park. The climate change activist immediately told its nephews to visit the park together.
Leading the familiarisation tour, Bra Parrot and relatives flew very fast to suck some nectar from the flowers.
To its greatest surprise, Bra Parrot met some youths sitting under the trees smoking diamba (cannabis sativa) and kush polluting the whole place with stinking smell of smoke.
The quiet bird could not bear with suffocation of the smoke, so it blinked its eyes frequently as tears started running down its eyes.
Though angered by the scene, it still flew closer to one of the wretched smokers for a chat. During their conversation, the patriotic animal also observed that some of the youths were even urinating in the park which makes the entire place stinks.
So tormented with this filthy and unpatriotic attitude, Bra Parrot left the park in despair and flew directly to State House the seat of power, to see whether the same is happening there.
Without surprise though, Bra Parrot shamefully saw some security men in the uniform smoking diamba and kush at the back of State House and some were even sleeping.
Bra Parrot was shocked as he saw a thick black smoke bellowing from the back of the State House thinking someone was cooking, using fire wood. But having taken a closer look; it discovered that, it was another gang of smokers engaged in their usual nocturnal and shameful activity.
This appalling situation has forced Bra Parrot to call on the new Inspector General of Police to take stringent action now not only to clean the Freetown municipality and State House of these human pests but to importantly save the nation from total embarrassment and disgrace.
The clean and respectable animal wants the country and its city to regain their past glories where the inhabitants can breathe fresh air at any given period.
