Bra Parrot did not read law which makes the brave bird not to be a Lawyer. That is notwithstanding, the bird was and is still a wide reader of all types of books as this keeps the bird being abreast of daily happenings in the Country and the World at large. This way, the brave bird is able to report accurately and correctly on things that happen around us.
Because the brave bird did not read Law as a profession, it had cause to move in the last few weeks from Chamber to Chamber to sound the views of some legally minded people [Lawyers].
It does that to get an advice as to how to go about reporting the issues that worth reporting so that the brave bird might not fall, foul of the law.
Most of the Lawyers visited by Bra Parrot shared different views on the matter under discussion, was the APC right, not to go to court?
Some views were in support of the APC not to go to Court, saying they should stand for what they’ve stood for. While others were saying it was and is still necessary for APC to take the matter to Court for posterity sake.
The brave bird did not stop at talking to the Lawyers, it also made several moves to contact some high profile politicians on the matter and to get their views.
As Bra Parrot no longer has a sitting place, the bird went to Moa-Wharf. But, because of the noise the bird could not stay at Moa-Wharf for long. It moved to Kingtom looking out for trees to sit on. And, here, again the noise of the machines distracted the bird and had to abandon Kingtom.
Finally, the brave bird saw a tree at the back of State House and managed to have a rest there. In putting ideas together on the matter, the bird critically looked at all the options of APC going to Court or not.
Bra Parrot came to the final conclusion that, it was, at all, not necessary for the APC party to go to Court. This is because taking into consideration the number of petition cases or cases the Main Opposition (APC) Party has taken to Court but couldn’t hearing on them.
One senior Lawyer even told the brave bird that, if the APC had gone to Court, the matter would have speedily come up for hearing since it has to do with elections’ outcome. He said the Court would legitimize the outcome of the results as being credible and that they reflect the will of the people. It could have been interpreted so by way of giving the SLPP a platform to argue that even the Court has shown that the results are credible.
The personal views of Bra Parrot are; the APC as a party has the right to go to Court or think otherwise. If the party decided not to go to Court, maybe they have no trust in the Court system. Alternatively, they are free to take another line of action they deem fit or maybe, they have taken an action already which they will stand by.
For argument sake, nobody will stand in the open and say the June results reflect the will of the people. The brave bird is not making a case for anybody to lean on. Only that, the brave bird, will call things just as it sees them.
Today for you, tomorrow will be for another person.
