It’s only the gullible and myopic Sierra Leoneans will heed to the flimsy excuses of the government to address the welfare of the citizens.
Prior to 2018 general elections, the so-called politicians were all over the country diluting the minds of the people, saying that the then government wasn’t serious to meet the people’s needs.
Majority became convinced that if the opportunity was given to them to govern they would help to improve their welfare and fortunately for these politicians they won the previous elections by a wide margin
But since they took up governance things started going from bad to worse.
They ended up using APC as scapegoat for their ineffectiveness to address the needs of the people.
But when they realized that citizens have become knowledgeable that the APC is not the cause of their failure, they have changed the narrative to cast the blame on the citizens themselves, especially the religious bodies accusing them that they’re the bedrock of what is unfolding now in the country – the black out. Oh what a shame!
The current unfortunate sufferings the citizens are going through now can’t be blamed by certain innocent people.
Neither the religious bodies nor prayers would be able to provide resolutions rather only the government itself can provide solutions to the current problems.
They have squandered all the resources allocated to solve the welfare of the people as the 2022 Audit Report could justify.
Indeed, the matter has come to its proximity as the center can no longer hold on its regular position.
Recently, one of the prominent government officials was on the media blatantly castigating poor citizens that they are not patriotic.
However, Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara had referred to those statements to be ironical as the government is toying with the intelligence of the people.
” It’s rather unfortunate that the government is blaming religious houses for their failure to address electricity crisis yet, the irony is they are asking the same bodies to pray for the problem.”
“Who is next to blame for the failure of the government to address the welfare of the citizens.”
He raised this question in connection with the current stance of the government as they are now casting unnecessary blames on the people for their indebtedness to provide quality leadership.
He further said that the issue of electricity had been drastically improved during the reign of APC as there were mechanisms to tackle any shortcomings.
But since this government took up governance the country has gone back to its former days as the “darkest nation” in the globe.
He maintained that the government is not serious to provide leadership as their blame game on the previous government has become the order of the day.
He also narrated that the government has all what it takes to address the needs of the people without castigating the poor citizens who are not in control of the nation’s resources.
Opposition Chief Whip also cautioned the government to concentrate the ways to provide absolute resolutions towards the sufferings of the masses rather than continuously banking on the blame game.
