As female football is slowly improving in the country, Sierra Leone is set to host the 2024 Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) woman’s champion league qualifiers on its soil.
The Lig will run from August 2nd to the 11th featuring female champions clubs from each nine zonal members associations.
The 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone A Qualifiers will be the 4th edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone A Qualifiers.
The tournament is organized by the WAFU for the women’s clubs of association nations.
The winners of the competition will qualify for the 2024 CAF Women’s champions League final tournament.
Last year, the Lig was hosted by Liberia in Monrovia and AS Mande of Mali emerged as the champions with AS Darka of Senegal coming second. However, Sierra Leone came 4th in that tournament and were behind the Determine Girls FC of Liberia.
This notable honor underscores Sierra Leone’s exemplary professionalism previously demonstrated in prior WAFU Zone A competitions, and this will be a great stride for national female team to showcase their unwavering ability and skills.
The females stars are 141 in the recent FIFA woman’s football ranking.
