The Rokupr section Chief candidate, Lamin S. Kamara (LSK) is determined in no small way to deliver upon assuming office as section Chief.
In an exclusive interview with Mr. LSK via a telephone, he informed this medium that his road map as a Section Chief if elected to this revered office, he will ensure that he upholds and preserve traditional culture and sacred norms and values.
He went on to assure his would-be subjects that he will preserve the institution through crowning principal assistants for the smooth running of the administration of the chieftaincy .
The soft spoken candidate maintained that he will create an Elders’ Council charged with the responsibility to provide advice and play key roles in the administration of the section governance.
He promised to set up Section Development Council which shall be broad based of interest groups.
He also assured that there will be technical Committees that will enhance development interventions in the section.
Mr. Kamara noted that if elected, he will set up a development advocacy network to make an assessment and findings on the State of Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI).
He said this committee shall be tasked to interface with Government on the state of SLARI to benefit the Rokupr community and the country as well.
He maintained that he will ensure that a Section Trust be created for micro projects like the construction of a sacred cemetery for all traditional chiefs for befitting final resting referred to as “Rofuta”
“My administration will concentrate on economic boom through setting up of economic technical board to organize women and other interest groups into formidable organizations such as Cooperate and financial organizations to attract funding and lending opportunities.
“I shall revive community public works on our feeder roads and subsequent naming of streets and addresses in collaboration with Kambia District Council, build a strong collaboration and network with Local government and government institutions and agencies among others for development and good governance”
“I will extend continued fraternal respect through deepen external and mutual relationships with the Chiefdom,other sister chiefdoms, districts and the country at large, promoting of youth participation in governance and zero tolerance to drug and substance abuse”.
“I will intensify campaign against users and peddlers of these drugs to discontinue this harmful and killer of our future leaders”. He said
Collaboration on the promotion of human capital development, health and agriculture, I shall set up a Section Inter-Religious Council charged with all religious affairs of the Section, revitalizing Rokupr as the once Commercial hub and sea transportation link, develop commercial best practices to attract trade development as an international trade center for traders and businesses”.
