One of Sierra Leone international stars, Daniel Kanu, was on target in Charlton Athletics’ 3-3 draw in their League competition at Vale Park in England.
Kanu, who recently returned to the Addicks from a loan spell, scored in the 59th minute to put his side ahead of their opponent.
Charlton went ahead three times through Corey Blackett-Taylor, Daniel Kanu and Tyreece Campbell.
However, Ethan Chislett’s successfully converted a penalty with the team’s goals from Uche Ikpeazu and Gavin Massey which earned Vale a point.
Kanu took to Instagram to express his bittersweet moment. He posted, “Tough result to take, but we keep pushing, happy to be back on the scoresheet.”
As a result, the draw leaves Port Vale and Charlton to be separated only by a goal difference in the League One table.
The striker on target who scored one goal in a match five-goal thriller, Kanu is admired by soccer fans at home and abroad.
The fans are expecting much from the Sierra Leone Football Association to include the player for the upcoming AFCON campaigns due to his outstanding performance.
