Nigeria is busy preparing to host the debut edition of the Coal City International Cup.
It is a significant international pre-season football tournament set to unfold at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. Between August 1st to 11th, 2024, football fans will be entertained with 11 days of thrilling matches featuring top-tier talents from both Nigeria and other nation in the region.
Assembly headlines as the host team is Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, a perennial force in Nigerian football.
Meanwhile, one of the top Serra Leone Premier League football clubs FC Kallon FC will be travelling to Nigeria to compete in the Coal City International Cup 2024 season.
The Cavaliers will clash with the historical premier league clubs from different countries in Africa.
Bo Rangers alongside other clubs, the competition will showcase three other Nigerian heavyweights clubs: Remo Stars FC, Kanu Pillars FC, and Enyimba FC.
These formidable domestic clubs will lock horns with four international teams representing Sierra Leone, Kenya, Cameroon, and Ghana.
Going international is Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon who’ll be adding their rich footballing history to the mix. Alongside them are Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC, and Cameroon’s Coton FC promised to elevate the tournament with their distinctive styles of play. Football fans can expect a pulsating atmosphere as Enugu will be transformed into a focal point of football fervor in the tournament.
With Kallon FC and a diverse array of talents from across Africa will be converging on the pitch.
The inaugural Coal City International Cup is primed to be a celebration of football excellence and camaraderie.
