A good number of people appreciate the good works of the Wise Bird, because the uncompromising animal stands for the truth by way of calling things by their correct and proper names at every given time.
Fortunately, for the most respected bird he was present in Kenema, and he was in the hall and saw it all, when the motion was put on floor to change the agenda from item eight (8) to item two (2) the Wise Bird saw it all, nobody knew the brave bird was present in the hall.
The Chief Commissioner did what he did to disadvantage other candidates; everybody should know that by using the nomenclature Chief Commission, they should know the person without calling a name.
The Wise Bird can even write a book on all what transpired in that hall on that day in Kenema, according to protocols the outgoing executive members, the President was to make statement, the Secretary General to give reports on the Bar’s activities, the Financial Secretary to give financial report, non-of the above were done.
From all indications everything that was in the hall in respect of an election was wrong; nobody in his/her right frame of mind to say all what took place in Kenema was an election or better referred to as Annual General Meeting AGM).
What beats the imagination of the Wise Bird was and still is that the Bar Association is full of elites yet still they cannot put their house in order to conduct a credible and transparent election.
From all indications the Chief Commissioner in the just concluded Bar Association election is a senior States-man but he has dented his credibility and messed-up big time to the dismay of the general public.
The Wise Bird will say without hesitation that, the Sierra Leone Bar Association election is synonymous to the June 24, 2023 Parliamentary, Presidential and local Council elections that were full of controversies up to date no head-way.
The Wise Bird as usual will go out to get the views of people on sensitive issues, some of the people the Wise Bird came across all expressed dismay over the attitude of the Chief Commissioner, and even stated that, he is not fit to be the Anti-Corruption Commissioner, because he himself is allegedly corrupt they lamented.
Some of the people the Wise Bird spoke with stated that, they see no sense in all of the cases the Commissioner has been taking to court for corruption, when Commissioner’s credibility is questionable.
Some senior State-men described the situation in Kenema as unfortunate as Lawyers should be pace setters.
However, the Wise Bird became pleased when he saw a letter/statement signed by a very senior Lawyers (past Presidents of the Bar) condemning the attitude of the Commissioner and by extension condemning the conduct of the election in totality, Bravo, bravo Ex-Presidents this shows that, you still love your Association.
