Dear Mr. Editor,
Thank you for providing me a space in your reputable newspaper called the Africa24. I have been a regular reader of the said paper, and what I love most is your Bra Parrot column and the style of your editor, in editing news items as he is using simple English for everybody to understand.
I am a Sierra Leonean, a Sierra Leonean right at this moment, is dying of sorrow not because of the present hardship in the Country, but the Sanctions hanging over every Sierra Leonean now residing in the Country for failing to do the needful in the interest of peace by those who’re concerned.
For long, sleep eludes me, especially when I think of what will happen at any time from now by way of stopping all assistance coming from the International Community which will add more suffering to the people of Sierra Leone.
Sierra Leone is a very small country and a very poor one. It is therefore a pity to see bigger nations putting the country aside by not giving whatever assistance needed to a smaller nation called Sierra Leone.
I am personally appealing to the government to see reason and do the needful by way of adhering to the demands made by the Opposition if not all of them, in the interest of peace because Sierra Leone belongs to all of us.
Sierra Leone has suffered a lot over the years, it is but fitting that we put our hands on deck to work as a team for the betterment of the country.
Please Mr. President as a father of the nation; see reason to bring all together as one, without peace no development will happen in the country and it will be very difficult for you to defend a situation of that nature.
Thanks
Alfred Lahai Vandi
Bo City.
