The brave Bra Parrot has been visiting a good number of market places in the Country starting from the Provinces right down to the City Freetown, simply to sound the views of traders and non-traders alike.
This is simply to get the correct and accurate information to tell the people the brave bird is representing, the bird is not doing anything personal but the interest of Mama Salone.
At the same time, the bird usually visits companies and big shops owned by both foreigners’ and indigenous traders their cry is the tariff at Water Quay. The brave bird also noticed that, the cry of the ordinary man at home, in work places, in poda-podas, in kekehs and on the streets is that, things are very, very expensive for the common man today in the Country.
As the brave bird is moving from place to place noticed that, most who voted for President Bio are crying and grumbling more than those who did not vote for him, simply because of their expectations.
Thank God Bra Parrot has no voting right to vote and be voted for, did not even attempt to go to polling stations.
The brave bird is of the view that governments come and go but Sierra Leone and the people continue to stay. It is no secret that, government cannot do it all for the people but it is incumbent on every government to make the people satisfy if not in totality, but all past and present government are all guilty of not been able to satisfy the people at least 2%.
The welfare of the people is very, very paramount for any government in power, if the welfare of the people is ignored then that government is always in trouble with the people, this is exactly what the SLPP government is experiencing today.
Bra Parrot is not making a case for the people; it is just the reality on ground. The brave bird was able to talk to one of the sacked Ministers, he/she said why the wage bill is always high is because of the number of Ministers, Directors, Commissions set up by the government.
He/she said some of the Commissions are very dormant, especially the Peace Commission set up by government, nobody knows whether they do exist at all but they received subvention every year for doing sweet nothing at the detriment of the State.
The former Minister never knew he/she was talking to the brave bird. The sacked Minister said is not saying all these because I was sacked, but it is the reality on ground.
The brave bird can categorically say that, building bridges, constructing roads is very important because that is part of development in a Country, but the welfare of the people is the most important aspect in the governance system.
The people can go without light for days, but they cannot go without food for days. This is the problem between the SLPP government and the people, not only SLPP all past governments.
The lives of the people are very important.
