Deputy Operations Officer attached to the CID Headquarters, Inspector Joshua Moisa has told journalists during the weekly police media briefing on Tuesday 18th April, 2023 at the Sierra Leone Police Headquarters that they are currently having in their custody one Samuel Bundu who allegedly purported himself as the Inspector General of Police and duped Mohamed Kamara alias Jagaban the whopping amount of Le187 million.
According to Inspector Joshua Fritzlnun Moisa, the suspect Samuel Bundu contacted Mohamed Kamara alias Jagaban that he was sent by the IGP to collect the said amount of money they had agreed on for a vehicle, adding that Jagaban contacted the said phone number that was given to him to ascertain whether the suspect was truly sent by the IGP. He carried on that a certain individual purporting to be the IGP assured Jagaban to release the Le187 million to suspect Samuel Bundu.
He revealed the number 072-013-729 as the person impersonating the IGP to the public, adding that the suspect has already made confessionary statement and the phone number sent to the CID Cyber-Unit.
He confirmed that the suspect has revealed to the police that he took the stolen money to Lumley, but is yet to tell the exact location where he kept the Le187 million at Lumley.
