The Head of Community Relations Department of the Sierra Leone, Chief Superintendent of Police, Edna Silver has told the Africa24 that they have taken a new approach by working with police artist to educate communities about crime and criminal related activities.
CSP Edna Silver said they are using entertainment to sensitize different communities to abstain from all forms of violence, political intimidation before, during and after election, adding that the safety and security of the citizens is their top most concern and they will apprehend and prosecute offenders of the law.
She said their new strategy to educate communities through entertainment is yielding dividend as the message has been evaporated far and wide along the Wharfs and other coastal communities. CSP Silver stated that the rights of the citizens go with responsibility.
She allayed the fears of the public that the police are ontop of situation and instilled confidence on the public to have full confidence in the police and continue to stay focus, adding that all they need from the public is their cooperation, collaboration and coordination working with the police by disseminating relevant information to them.
CSP Silver assured the public of their safety and will continue to respect their human right and uphold their human dignity.
