As the fight to end Kush invasion is getting on different levels, locals in different communities across the country and MPs have called others to end Kush selling and smoking in cemeteries.
Sierra Leoneans are dumb-founded when a large number of kush smokers were earlier buried in mass grave and this has sent a strong signal of deviance by Sierra Leoneans.
Many have expressed dissatisfaction over the slow-pace on the fight to end the kush epidemic.
“We need to investigate whether some government officials have connection to the importation of Kush in the country or not.
MP from both parties (SLPP and APC) have both frown at the rate at which young men are dying of the Kush smoking.
Hon Abdul Karim Kamara disclosed that the number of death rate related to Kush is alarming with the death toll chasing victims during Ebola and Corona diseases.
Other schools of thought have lamented that it is certain that the kush drug chemical is either imported or locally available.
For example, marshmallows which are the paramount ingredients are not illegal, adding that other manufacturing companies use them for other functions.
Also, formalin which is another ingredient is used legally by medical people.
Many said, another ingredients are bones from the dead, stating that others chemicals can be derived from cemeteries around the country, hence the massive invasion of cemeteries of late.
“This tells you that Kush as a drug doesn’t need to be imported as a finished product,” MPs said.
They pointed out that Kush is synthesized here locally and the retailers know where to get their stock and where to retail it.
People are informed not to expose the dealers or smokers if arrested.
“If you try to arrest the wholesalers, they have the money to bribe their way out,” they observed.
Communities said this is a social problem that needs to be tackled through social means other than using political innuendos.
MPs have geared up to express their commitment to nip the issue of Kush into the bud.
