Usually reliable report has intimated Africa24 that one Yusufu Kamara a homosexual person of No. 2 Johnson Street, Aberdeen-Freetown is a wanted person by the Sierra Leone Police following his refusal to honour a police invite on two separate occasions after he was reported by Counselor Ahmed Karim Bangura of N0. 65 Cape Road, Aberdeen of Ward 443, Constituency 131 in the Aberdeen community for his involvement into homosexuality act which is against the tradition and customs of Sierra Leone.
The laws of Sierra Leone do not legitimize Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) relationship whether in public or private. Whoever gets involved in such act when found wanting experienced rigorous challenges like life imprisonment with hard labor by the State.
LGBT activists in Sierra Leone are ostracized by their very own family members, community people who isolated them; get them tormented, intimated and unsafe.
According to report, Yusufu Kamara was invited by the Police on Thursday February 25, 2021 and on Wednesday March 3, 2021 respectively in order to interrogate him in relation to a report made against him by Counselor Ahmed Karim Bangura about his homosexual act. Africa24 gathered that, Yusufu blatantly refused to honor the invitation which led the police to declare him wanted.
Sources further revealed to this medium following the discovery by family members, stakeholders within his community and youths that he was actively involved into the homosexual act albeit secretly; Yusufu report stated fled to Lungi where he briefly stayed with a friend called Richardson Scott.
Report went on that, Richardson Scott house was attacked by unknown assailants when news broke out that Yusufu has relocated to him.
Credible sources also revealed to this medium that Richardson Scott died during the brutal attack, as Yusufu was nowhere to be found.
Family members of Richardson Scott are now blaming Yusufu for the death of their loved one.
During the course of our investigation, Africa24 found out that, Yusufu’s father was reportedly dismissed at the Mosque where he used to worshipped when it was discover that his son was homosexual.
Stakeholders, youth turned against Yusufu as life became extremely unbearable for him and the police are searching for him as a fugitive for defying State authority.
