Many a time people consider the Wise Bird to be an inquisitive animal, but failing to understand the reality on ground that, the bird is not like how he is accused of; only that he always calls things by their proper and correct names at the right time.
The brave bird, of course, everybody knows he is not an arm chair journalist who only sits in the office and builds up stories out of something that never existed or happened.
The bird loves flying; he often flies the length and breadth of the country to get accurate and correct stories before putting pen on paper for public consumption.
The Wise Bird was in the Southern part of the country; to be more precise in Bo town, just few weeks back. Coincidentally, His Excellency the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio was in Bo to address a cross-section of Paramount Chiefs.
The wise animal will not say categorically whether it was deliberate, or it was a slip of tongue or the President really meant what he said there.
During the process of addressing the Chiefs, the Wise Bird overheard the President saying to the Chiefs and other people that (the bird is quoting the President) “Nar suck-air don hole them, huna-know watin nar suck-air”? The people answered yes in jubilation.
From what the wise animal understood, suck-air, in simply terms means, the opposition is totally broke.
From what the bird saw from the faces of the people, some of the people were not happy with the statement of the President.
As usual, the Wise animal will go out to get the views of people in sensitive issues; most of the people the bird contacted expressed dismay over the utterances of the Pa himself as father of the nation.
The bird is of the view that, whatever statement he makes in public will be interpreted in many quarters differently.
One of those the bird spoke with tried to give a definition of the ‘word’ big-man, and according to him, he said one’s age does not make him a big-man, he said, what makes one a big-man, is what he says in public places; his doings in public places and above all his approach to people and the public in general.
One woman the bird talked to said under the sun, no condition is permanent, as those in power today will one day be in the opposition.
So plus, minus those enjoying power today must take time in doing things for tomorrow time will tell.
