Due to her pitiable show at the Olympics, Sierra Leonean sprinter Georgina Sesay, has sadly failed to progress in the Women’s 100m at the Paris Olympics 2024.
20-year-old Georgiana hailed from Waterloo, Western Rural District, and made her mark on the Olympics stage by advancing to the Women’s 100m preliminary round. But was unfortunate to make it in the next stage.
Sesay achieved a milestone, though, by recording a 11.99 seconds in heat 4, finishing fourth and securing her place in the next stage of the competition. Her journey in athletics has been notable, including having a silver medal at the African U20 Championships held at Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
At just 19 years old, Sesay continues to build on her success and make significant strides in her athletics.
